The Walker Center is a modern, state of the art meeting and entertainment center on the campus of Wilkes Community College. Our mission is to serve as an activities hub, providing quality meeting and entertainment facilities for the use and enrichment of students, individuals, businesses, the community, and the public that it serves.
To accomplish this, The Walker Center presents year-round programming of cultural entertainment that promotes intellectual growth to all who attend.
The Walker Center features:
- an 1,130 seat performing arts auditorium
- 38,731 square feet of multi-purpose meeting space
All functions are conducted in a professional and customer - friendly manner by a courteous and well - trained staff. All food preparation meets the highest standards of sanitation, service and taste.

Walker Center Facilities and Resources
- The Nan Davis Van Every Auditorium – seating 1,130 people with state-of-the-art technical support.
- The Lakey Ballroom – an expanded ballroom area capable of seating up to 350 people for a meal, 350 people classroom style, or 425 people theatre style.
- Walker Conference Facility – complete with the latest in audio/visual support equipment.
The Watson Stage – outdoor stage seating for large groups under roof and endless number of seats outside; ideal for your church or company picnic.- Chef and Banquet Staff – providing delicious food and first - class banquet service from an elegant multi - course dinner, to a country barbecue or boxed lunch.
