MerleFest School Day (Grades 5, 8, 12)

MerleFest School Day hosts over 3,000 students and their teachers from 5th, 8th, and 12th grades on Friday to enjoy the festival free of charge. The experience allows students to enter the festival and enjoy the music, activities, and local arts and crafts. Festival planners work with performers, organizers, and festival vendors to make sure students are welcomed and have plenty to see and do.
We ask that any homeschool groups making requests for their students correspond to the public-school agreement of 5th, 8th, and 12th grade students. This should reflect children that are no younger than 8 years old and no older than 18 years of age. Also, we ask that the chaperones are kept to a minimum based on the number of students that are attending. We understand that special needs may require more assistance. The deadline to make reservation requests for school day will be March 20, 2026. Please make reservation requests by calling 336-838-6260 or emailing walker.boxoffice@wilkescc.edu. Reservations are required.
